My name is Jackie O’Shea, and yes with a name like O’Shea I am indeed Irish. I moved here 19 years ago, from a beautiful little town in the south of Ireland. My life has certainly been full of amazing experiences but one of the best choices I have ever made was choosing podiatry as my career. I graduated from AUT University with a Bachelor of Health Science in Podiatry.
As a podiatrist my aim is to keep my patients pain free and mobile. Helping them through all of those hurdles we face, especially as we age. My work involves a variety of treatments, from removing corns, calluses, painful ingrown toenails, strapping and biomechanical analysis to dealing with conditions such as plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis, flat feet and a wide variety of other limb issues. Diabetes assessments are also a big part of my work and monitoring the effects of diabetes such as peripheral neuropathy etc.
I work closely with young and old and determine what their main goals are, then we work together to achieve them.
I am passionate about podiatry and feel that having healthy feet enables us to continue to be independent and encourages us to get out and enjoy this beautiful country.
I am excited to begin a new chapter with IBOD, as being surrounded by like- minded people is the perfect environment to thrive on, both for the patients and the staff. I look forward to meeting you all and supporting you with your future foot health.
